Lance Klusener is regarded as one of the best all-rounders produced by South Africa. Largely overshadowed by Jacques Kallis throughout his career, Lance actually overshadowed Kallis in this particular record.
After mere 42 ODIs, Klusener had over 1000 runs to his name at a strike rate of almost 90 which was incredible in those days. In his 69th ODI, he ‘lbw’ed Zimbabwean batsman MW Goodwin to complete 100 wickets in the format.
Playing 171 matches in his ODI career from 1996 to 2004, he scored 3576 runs at an average of 41 and a strike-rate of 90. He also picked up 192 wickets with the best figures of 6/49 against Sri Lanka during the 6th ODI of 1997-1998 Wills Quadrangular Tournament in Lahore.
