The T20I format has seen some of the best wicketkeeper-batters embrace their dual role of keeping wickets and scoring runs like anything. Apart from being the masters behind the stumps, they have also let their bats do the talking on significant occasions.

Key Insights on Highest Individual Scores by Wicketkeeper-Batters in T20Is
Leading Individual Scores and World Cup Milestones by Keepers
New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum and Zimbabwe’s Brendan Taylor share the highest individual score as a wicketkeeper in T20Is. McCullum was, in fact, the first keeper-batter to hammer a century in the T20I format.
McCullum’s blazing knock of 123 off 58 balls came against Bangladesh during the 2012 T20 World Cup. This is the highest individual score in T20 World Cup history.
Taylor, meanwhile, struck 123 runs from 54 balls against Botswana in the T20 World Cup Africa regional final in 2025.
Taylor’s 123 is also the highest score by a keeper-batter on home soil in the T20I format.
Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan has over seven 80-plus knocks, the most by any keeper-batter in T20Is.
Fastest T20I Century and Strike Rate Records by Wicketkeepers
Muhammad Fahad has hammered the fastest T20I hundred by a wicketkeeper. He reached the 100-run mark off 29 balls on his way to 120 against Bulgaria in 2025.
Fahad also recorded the highest strike rate by a keeper-batter in a T20I innings (minimum 20 balls). He struck at 352.92 while scoring 120 runs off 34 balls in the above match.
Record-Breaking Performances in Run Chases and Losing Causes
Pakistan’s Mohammad Haris has smashed the highest score as a wicketkeeper in a run chase in T20Is. He scored an unbeaten 107 off 46 balls to help his side chase 197 against Bangladesh in the 2025 Lahore T20I.
Serbia’s Leslie Dunbar has registered the highest score as a wicketkeeper in a losing cause in T20Is. His 117 helped Serbia post 242 for 4, though it wasn’t enough as Bulgaria chased down the total with two balls to spare in the 2022 Sofia T20I.
Dunbar is also the only wicketkeeper with multiple hundreds in losing causes in T20Is, with his other ton (104*) also coming against Bulgaria in 2019.
Sanju Samson’s Historic Century Feats
India’s Sanju Samson has scored three T20I centuries, all as a wicketkeeper. (Check other keepers with hundreds in the shortest format here.)
All three of Samson’s hundreds came in 2024, the most by any batter in a calendar year in T20Is.
Two of Samson’s hundreds came in consecutive T20I innings against South Africa, the only wicketkeeper to do so.
