Ravichandran Ashwin has taken the most five-wicket hauls for India in Test cricket, with 37 five-fors to his name. He ranks joint-second among all bowlers in this format, and jointly holds the Indian record for most 10-wicket hauls in Tests.
29 of Ashwin’s 37 five-fors came in India, the most by an Indian bowler on home soil in Tests.
Ashwin is the only Indian bowler to take five or more five-fors against five opponents in Tests. He had eight fifers against England, seven against Australia, six each against New Zealand and the West Indies, and five against South Africa.
Anil Kumble picked up 10 of his 35 five-wicket hauls against Australia, the most for India against a single Test team.
Jasprit Bumrah, Kapil Dev, and Kumble are the three Indian bowlers with 10 or more five-wicket hauls in away Test matches.
