Though IPL 2019 is still 3 months away, the news around the tournament and its franchises have already started to roll out.
Ahead of the IPL 2019 Auction on December 18th, teams were asked to release the list of retained and released players for the upcoming edition of the tournament.
Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Glenn Maxwell & Jaydev Unadkat are few big releases from their respective teams and will be warming the auction tables next month.
Here are the full list of Retained and Released Players, announced by the IPL teams. Let us see one by one.
The Current Champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) managed to retain their core title-winning team from last year.
Salary cap available: Rs 8.40 crore
Minimum Slots Available: 2 (Indian 2, Overseas 0)
The big names Rohit Sharma, Pandya brothers, Jasprit Bumrah and Kieron Pollard continues to be the key players of Mumbai Indians in 2019 IPL.
Salary cap available: Rs 11.15 crore
Minimum Slots Available: 7 (Indian 6, Overseas 1)
Delhi Daredevils replaced Gautam Gambhir with Shikhar Dhawan who has been traded in from Sunrisers Hyderabad. A Big Change!
Salary cap available: Rs 25.50 crore
Minimum Slots Available: 10 (Indian 7, Overseas 3)
Sending out Shikhar Dhawan, SRH managed to bring in some young talents – Vijay Shankar, Abhishek Sharma & Shahbaz Nadeem. Few International names like Alex Hales, Chris Jordan and Carlisle Braithwaite are also released from the Hyderabad camp.
Salary cap available: Rs 9.70 crore
Minimum Slots Available: 5 (Indian 3, Overseas 2)
The big let off from the RCB side must Quinton De Kock, whom I thought will be a key player for the team in the future.
Salary cap available: Rs 18.15 crore
Minimum Slots Available: 10 (Indian 8, Overseas 2)
Punjab Lions are the most let off team in this Trade Window. Their purse is the richest currently with 36.20 Crores and a minimum of 15 Players to be selected in the next month’s auction. Clearly, they will be the busiest team in the auction.

Minimum Slots Available: 15 (Indian 11, Overseas 4)
Mitchell Starc and Mitchell Johnson cut away from the team, KKR will now look to pick few International pacers to add strength to their team pace bowling unit.
Salary cap available: Rs 15.20 crore
Minimum Slots Available: 12 (Indian 7, Overseas 5)
Jaydev Unadkat, the million dollar baby in the last year’s auction has been let go with a few other exciting talents.
Salary cap available: Rs 20.95 crore
Minimum Slots Available: 9 (Indian 6, Overseas 3)
