Cricket is a game of momentum and the team that has them in their favor for the longest time in a game invariably wins the game. However, it can tilt to the other side at a given stage of the match and it can be even a matter of a single over. One of the ways the game can drift away toward the opposition is when their bowler(s) concede way too many runs in a particular over.
While this could be just a single poor over but could very well be a telling factor in the result of the game. In this article, we will talk about those overs where the opposition batters took full effect on the Indian bowlers. Here are the most runs conceded by the Indian bowlers in a single over in ODI cricket.

Key Stats
The highest number of runs conceded by an Indian bowler in a single over is 30 and the dubious distinction was achieved by two different bowlers, Ishant Sharma and Yuvraj Singh.
Despite Yuvraj conceding those 30 runs in a single over, India was able to get over the line against England in that game. On the other hand, they weren’t lucky during the game where Ishant Sharma conceded those 30 in a single over.
Harshit Rana became the recent entrant to join this unwanted club when he gave away 26 runs against England at Nagpur. This is the most runs conceded in a single over by an Indian debutant in ODI cricket.
Overall, the record for most runs conceded by a bowler in a single over in this format belongs to Gaudi Toka of PNG and Netherlands’ Dan Van Bunge. They conceded 36 runs each versus the USA and South Africa respectively.
Van Bunge’s unfortunate 36-run over came in the ICC World Cup 2007 group game at Basseterre and this is the highest a bowler has ever conceded off a single over in a World Cup game.
