Babar Azam’s Boundary Records in T20I

Babar Azam and Paul Stirling are the two batters who’ve smashed more than 400 fours in T20Is. Babar scored 289 of his fours while leading Pakistan, making it the most by a captain in T20Is.

The Pakistani batter is the only batter to hit more than 150 fours each in home and overseas conditions in T20Is.

He is also the only batter to smash more than 90 fours against an opponent, doing so against New Zealand.


Single Match and Calendar Year Milestone Records

Czech Republic’s Dylan Steyn and Samoa’s Darius Visser have scored the most fours in a T20I innings, with both striking 17 boundaries each against Bulgaria (2022) and Malaysia (2025), respectively.

Indonesia’s Dharma Kesuma became the first batter to hit 100 fours at a single ground, having done so at the Udayana Cricket Ground in Bali.

Austria’s Karanbir Singh has scored the most fours in a calendar year in T20Is, smashing 127 boundaries in 32 innings in 2025.

Zimbabwe’s Brian Bennett became the first batter to smash six consecutive fours in a single over in T20Is.

Top Boundary Hitters by Innings Phase and Role

Paul Stirling is also the only opening batter to score more than 400 boundaries in the shortest format. He is also the leading run-scorer among openers in T20I.

Jos Buttler and Quinton de Kock are the only two wicketkeepers who have scored 300-plus fours in T20Is.

Rohit Sharma, Babar Azam, Quinton de Kock, and Jos Buttler have scored 200-plus fours in powerplay overs in T20Is.

Babar Azam, Suryakumar Yadav, and Virat Kohli have smashed 150-plus boundaries in the middle overs (7-16) in T20Is.

Mohammad Nabi, Hardik Pandya, Dasun Shanaka, and MS Dhoni are the four batters with 70 or more fours in the death overs in T20Is.

Babar Azam (in Pakistan), Martin Guptill (in New Zealand), and Virandeep Singh (in Malaysia) have scored 150-plus boundaries in their respective home countries in T20Is.
