Malaysia’s Virandeep Singh became the first player to win the Player of the Match (POTM) award 20 times in T20I cricket.

Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza has won the most POTM awards among full-member nation players in T20Is.

Australia’s former captain, Ricky Ponting, was the first Player of the Match award winner in the shortest format for his incredible knock of an unbeaten 98 runs in the first-ever T20I match against New Zealand in 2005.
