Only three wicketkeeper-batters have scored 500 or more individual runs in a single Test series. Furthermore, there are 14 instances of a wicketkeeper-batter crossing the 400-run mark in a Test series, a feat only Andy Flower has achieved twice.
The other four players to reach the 400-run milestone are Les Ames (417), Jamie Smith (415), Farokh Engineer (415), and Billy Wade (407). Incidentally, both Jamie Smith and Rishabh Pant achieved their career-best Test series aggregates on the same tour.
Andy Flower’s batting brilliance is particularly notable: in both of his significant series, he played just four innings each to prominently feature on the top-10 list of wicketkeeper-batters by runs scored.
He also holds the highest career batting average among all designated Test wicketkeepers. Capping his formidable record, his 232* remains the highest individual innings score ever by a Test wicketkeeper.
Denis Lindsay stands alone with the most runs by a wicketkeeper-batter in a Test series. His unique achievement extends to scoring the most centuries (3) by a gloveman in a single bilateral Test tour.
A further 14 instances exist where wicketkeepers have hammered two tons in a series, with legends Andy Flower and Adam Gilchrist accomplishing this remarkable feat twice each.
