Rohit Sharma has hit the most sixes in the ODI and T20 Asia Cup combined, with 40 maximums to his name in 35 innings. 28 of his sixes came in the ODI format, which is the most by a batter. Rohit is also on the verge of topping the overall ODI six-hitting list.
Sharma also leads the chart as a captain in the Asia Cup, having hit 32 maximums in 14 innings while leading India.
14 of Sanath Jayasuriya’s sixes came in the 2008 edition, the most by a batter in a single ODI Asia Cup. Meanwhile, Rahmanullah Gurbaz struck 12 sixes in 2022, the most in a single T20 Asia Cup.
Jayasuriya has also hit the most fours in Asia Cup history, with 139 boundaries in 24 innings, all in ODIs.
Shahid Afridi is the only batter to hammer seven sixes in an innings twice, against Sri Lanka in 2010 and Bangladesh in 2014. Notably, Hayat’s feat came in the 2016 T20 Asia Cup. He scored seven maximums in his 122-run knock against Oman, making him the first centurion in the T20 Asia Cup.
17 of Sharma’s 40 sixes came against Pakistan, the most by a batter against a single team in the Asia Cup. Rohit also leads the overall list of this stat, but against a different opponent.
Sharma has also slammed the most sixes in a single country in the Asia Cup, hitting 21 of his sixes in the UAE across ODI and T20 tournaments. Interestingly, all of Sharma’s maximums came at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, which is also the most by a batter at a single venue in the tournament.
