In the current year (2025), the Kiwi pacer has taken 29 wickets in just 17 T20Is played in New Zealand at an average of 14.55 with an ER of 7.58, with 3 four-wicket hauls to his name.
He went past Sri Lanka leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga’s tally of 26 wickets in 2024.
The third on the list is Zimbabwe’s Richard Ngarava, who has also taken 26 wickets in 2025.
Indonesia’s Ferdinando Banunaek can improve upon his 25-wicket tally in 2025 as the team has some home games left in the format.

The economy rate of 4.97 by Emmanuel Sebareme of Rwanda (one of the leading wicket-taker in T20Is in 2023) is the lowest, having picked 22 wickets in 19 home T20Is in 2022.
Virandeep Singh’s ER of 5.32 in 2022 is the second-lowest.
