Record-Breaking Individual Performance Totals

Ryan Rickelton scored the most runs in the SA20 2024 season, aggregating 530 runs in 10 innings for MI Cape Town (MICT).

Rickelton’s 530-run tally is the highest by a batter in a single SA20 season. He, in fact, became the first batter to score 500-plus runs in a season.

Rickelton’s tally included five fifty-plus scores, the most by a batter this season. Rickelton crossed the 90-run mark three times, but he failed to convert it into a century.

Jos Buttler scored the most fours, hitting 44 to power his 408-run tally in 11 innings for Paarl Royals. His 44 fours are the second most by a batter in a single SA20 edition.


Highest Individual Scores and Season Centuries

Kyle Verreynne smashed the highest individual score in the second edition, scoring an unbeaten 116 for Pretoria Capitals (PC) against MICT.

Verreyne’s 116-run knock is also the highest individual score in a losing cause in SA20 history, as the Capitals failed to chase 249 against MICT.

Jordan Hermann (106)*, Rassie van der Dussen (104), and Will Jacks (101) were the other batters to score a century in the second season.

Batting Efficiency and Power Hitting Statistics

Verreyne achieved an impeccable average of 64 while scoring 256 runs in six innings, the highest batting average by a batter this season.

Tristan Stubbs (60.20) and Rickelton (58.88) were the other batters to average above 50 this season.

Heinrich Klaasen, who scored 447 runs in 13 innings, had a strike rate of 207.9, the highest by a batter in the second SA20 season (minimum 20 balls faced).

Aiden Markram scored the most runs as a captain in SA20 2024, collecting 291 runs in nine innings in Sunrisers Eastern Cape’s (SEC) victorious campaign.

Record-Breaking Season Totals and Leadership

Marco Jansen took the most wickets in the SA20 2024 season, picking up 20 scalps in 10 innings for the Sunrisers.

Jansen’s 20 wickets are the joint-most by a bowler in a single SA20 season. He also went onto became the first ever cricketer in the tournament to fetch 50 wickets.

All of Keshav Maharaj’s 15 wickets came while leading Durban’s Super Giants (DSG), the most by a captain in a single SA20 season.

Ottneil Baartman, Junior Dala, and Marco Jansen picked up two four-wicket hauls each in SA20 2024.


Best Bowling Figures and Five-Wicket Hauls

Noor Ahmad claimed the best bowling figures in the second season, delivering 5 for 11 for DSG against the Royals.

Ahmad’s 5 for 11 is the third-best bowling figures in an innings by a bowler in SA20 history.

DSG’s Junior Dala (5/26) and Marco Jansen (5/30) were the other bowlers to pick up a five-for in this edition.

Daryn Dupavillon delivered the most expensive spell in SA20 history, conceding 73 runs for one wicket for the Capitals against MICT.

Efficiency Metrics and Strike Rate Leaders

Noor Ahmad snared 12 wickets in six innings at an average of 11.33, the lowest by a bowler in the second edition (minimum 30 balls bowled).

Wihan Lubbe had the lowest bowling economy rate in the season, going at 5.66 while taking two wickets for the Royals (minimum 30 balls bowled).

Junior Dala, meanwhile, had the best bowling strike rate, taking 13 wickets at 9.07 in five innings (minimum 30 balls bowled).
