The inaugural Test championship, conducted by ICC, comprises the nine top Test nations (excluding Afghanistan and Ireland). Every team played a set of home and away fixtures, spanning through two calendar years. New Zealand emerged as the winners of the championship, and here we are enclosing the complete stats sheets for the WTC first edition 2019-2021.

Ultimately, New Zealand emerged as the World Test Champions beating India in the rain-affected game at the Ageas Bowl. Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor mastered the run chase against the threatening Indian bowlers on the Reserve day of the game. For his match figures of 7/61, Kyle Jamieson was named the man of the match in the big final.
Topping the most runs chart, Marnus Labuschagne also leads the list of batsmen with the highest batting average in the championship. His average stands at 72.82.
Labuschagne also leads the chart of batsmen with most centuries and most half-centuries in the 1st ever WTC. He has, to his name, 5 centuries and 9 fifties. 5 other batsmen scored 4 centuries – Steve Smith, Ben Stokes, Rohit Sharma, Babar Azam and Dimuth Karunaratne. Cheteshwar Pujara of India is the other batsman to have scored 9 fifties. Rishabh Pant scored the fastest hundred in 115 balls.
The 6 batsmen mentioned above are the only members to cross 1000 runs in the matches held inside the Test championship format. Dimuth Karunaratne came so close to the 1000-mark to end up closing his tally at 999 runs.
Rohit Sharma is the only opening batsman to reach the 1000 mark.
Ben Stokes has hit the maximum number of 6s – 31, followed by 27 sixes by Rohit Sharma. Check whether these numbers made any changes in the overall sixes record of Test cricket.
On hitting fours, Labuschagne once again leads the chart with 186 boundaries.
It took Ravi Ashwin the final wicket of the final day in the WTC Final game to top the list. He picked 4 wickets in the final game against New Zealand.
Nauman Ali of Pakistan has the best economy rate of 2.16, followed by Kyle Jamieson (2.18).
Pat Cummins of Australia has bowled the maximum number of maiden overs – 158.

Kyle Jamieson has picked the most 5-wicket hauls in this edition of WTC, followed by three players picking 4 – Ravi Ashwin, Nathan Lyon, & Axar Patel. Interestingly Axar Patel has bowled only in 6 innings with a wicket tally of 27.
Six 10-wicket hauls were produced in the first edition of WTC, which also comprises the table-topper Lasith Embuldeniya’s game against England.
The best bowling figure in a match belongs to Aar Patel – 11/70 against England.
India managed the best win percentage among all teams. They won 69.4% of all games they played.
South Africa and West Indies lost more games – 8 each.
Jasprit Bumrah (India) and Naseem Shah (Pakistan) picked hat tricks against West Indies and Bangladesh, respectively.
