India’s T20I Tie-Breaker Success
India became the first team to win a tie-breaker in T20Is by defeating Pakistan 3-0 in a bowl-out during the 2007 T20 World Cup.
India have been involved in three tied matches against New Zealand in T20Is, winning two via Super Overs in 2020, while one resulted in a tie due to the DLS method in 2022.
All three tied matches between India and New Zealand took place in New Zealand.
India and New Zealand are the only two teams to be involved in back-to-back tied T20I matches, with India winning both via Super Overs. This happened in the second and third T20Is during India’s tour of New Zealand in 2020.
India have also won two Super Overs against Sri Lanka in T20Is. Their other Super Over win came against Afghanistan. In fact, the match against Afghanistan recorded the first double Super Over in T20Is.

India have played 10 or more matches against nine teams, the joint second-most among all teams in T20Is.
They have also won 10 or more matches against the same nine opponents, the most by any team in T20Is.
India have a win percentage of over 60 against six opponents against whom they have played 10-plus T20I matches.
India’s win percentage of around 94 against Bangladesh is the highest between two full-member teams in T20Is.
The Men in Blue have won 10 or more matches against Sri Lanka, Australia, and England on home soil.
India have won nine bilateral series against Sri Lanka, the most by them against a team in T20Is.
In all, India have won five or more bilateral T20I series against six teams, with Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, and the West Indies being the other five opponents.

The Men in Blue have won five or more matches against Pakistan, Bangladesh, and South Africa in the T20 World Cup.
India have even defeated Pakistan and South Africa in the T20 World Cup final in 2007 and 2024, respectively.
India are one of the two teams to win more than 160 matches in T20Is. They have also played the second-most matches in the shortest format.
