Mitchell Owen, representing the Hobart Hurricanes, was the highest run-getter in the 2024/25 edition of the Big Bash League. The right-hander had scored 452 runs in just 11 innings and helped his side win the title for the first time, and thereby winning the Golden Bat award for the season.
David Warner, who led his side, the Sydney Thunder, to the finals of the 2024/25 BBL, was the league’s second-highest run-getter, scoring 405 runs in 12 outings.
Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis, who are part of the top ten of overall run-scorers in Big Bash League also forms the above list.
Steven Smith, who played only two innings in the entire season for the Sydney Sixers, made 121 in one of his knocks, and this is the highest individual score in the season. The Australian star currently holds the top position in the century-scorers list in the tournament.
The others to score a century are Mitchell Owen, Matthew Short, and James Vince. While Short and Vince scored one century each, Owen is the only one to make two tons in the season, including a match-winning 108 in the final against Thunder.
David Warner, Glenn Maxwell, and Ben Duckett have all made three scores of fifty-plus in the tournament, the most by any batter in BBL 2024/25. It is to be noted that none of them crossed the three-figure mark.
Alex Ross of Adelaide Strikers has scored the most runs in BBL 2024/25 without registering a single fifty-plus score. He had amassed 256 runs at a strike rate of 141.43 in 10 innings with a highest score of 48.
A total of 19 batters have piled up over 200 runs in the BBL 2024/25 season. Amongst them, Mitchell Owen’s strike rate of 203.60 is the highest. In what was his breakout BBL season, Owen was the only batter who had a strike rate of 200, with a minimum of 200 runs in his kitty.
Fact: No one in this season has crossed the 500-runs mark, the feat that is achieved only by a quite few in other BBL seasons.
Following him, Glenn Maxwell has the next best strike rate (186.78) in this particular edition.
Owen leads the tally on the most sixes front as well. The right-hander hit a whopping 36 maximums in the tournament, and the next best is 27 by Glenn Maxwell.
David Warner has hit the most boundary fours with 44, while Mitchell Owen comes second with 35 fours.
Tim Seifert has the lowest strike rate (122.69) among batters with at least 200 runs.
Glenn Maxwell’s batting average of 54.16 is the highest among batters with 200 or more runs in BBL 2024/25. He made 325 runs at a staggering strike rate of 186.78 throughout the tournament.
The next best average is 50.14 by Cooper Connolly, who made 351 runs in the season.
The others to have an average of over 45 are: Mitchell Owen (45.20), David Warner (45.00), and James Vince (45.60).
Tim Seifert (200) registered the lowest average for a batter with at least 200 runs, finishing at 22.22.
As a skipper, David Warner has the most runs (405), and next on the list is Marcus Stonis of Melbourne Stars, who made 311 runs.

Jason Behrendorff of Perth Scorchers has taken the most wickets in the BBL 2024/25 edition, winning the Golden Arm that year. The left-arm pacer took 17 wickets in just 10 games. He is also among the overall top wicket-takers in the tournament.
Ton Rogers of Melbourne Renegades and Riley Meredith of Hobart Hurricanes each have taken 16 wickets in the tournament to be the joint second-highest wicket taker of the season.
Nathan McAndrew of Thunder recorded the best bowling figures (5/16) in the season.
The only other bowler to take a five-wicket haul in the tournament was Mark Steketee, who has the best figures of 5/17.
Mark Steketee is the only bowler to have taken a four-wicket haul more than once. Apart from McAndrew and Steketee, the other bowlers to have picked at least a four-wicket haul are Ben Dwarshuis, Stephen Johnson, Xavier Bartlett, Wes Agar, Sean Abbott, Jackson Bird, and D’Arcy Short.
Among captains, Nathan Eliss has been the most prolific with the ball, taking 13 wickets in 10 games for the Hobart Hurricanes.
