Elite Averages and Economy Rates

Dilip Doshi has the best bowling average among Indian bowlers in Australia in ODIs (minimum 10 wickets). He averaged 20.86 while taking 15 scalps in 10 innings.

Kapil Dev’s average of 21.84 is the best by an Indian fast bowler in ODIs in Australian conditions. He also leads the wicket chart among Indians in this country.

Dev also has the lowest economy rate in Australia, having conceded 3.34 runs per over while taking 57 wickets in 41 innings.


Unwanted Career-Worst Records

Ravindra Jadeja has the worst bowling average for an Indian with at least 10 ODI wickets in Australia. He averaged 71.88 while grabbing 17 wickets across 25 outings. This is also the worst ODI average among all bowlers down under.


Strike Rate Extremes

Ishant Sharma is the only Indian bowler with a strike rate below 30 in ODIs played in Australia. He had a strike rate of 26.6 while fetching 23 wickets in 12 innings.

Jadeja’s strike rate of 80.5 is also the worst by any bowler in Australia in 50-over cricket. Anil Kumble (52.8) is the other Indian bowler with a 50-plus strike rate down under.


Single Series, Venue, and Opponent Feats

Roger Binny has the lowest bowling average for India in an ODI series in Australia (minimum two innings and five wickets). He took nine wickets at 13.66 in four innings in the 1985 Benson & Hedges World Championship of Cricket.

Doshi averaged 9.16 while taking six scalps in two innings at the Brisbane Cricket Ground, the most by an Indian bowler at an Australian venue (minimum two innings played).

Dev took seven wickets against Pakistan at an average of 12, the lowest by a bowler for India against an ODI team in Australia (minimum two innings and five wickets).
