Phil Salt has smashed the highest individual score against South Africa in T20Is. The English batter scored an unbeaten 141 from 60 balls in the 2025 Manchester T20I.
Salt’s knock resulted in South Africa conceding their first 300-plus total and their biggest defeat in T20Is. England posted 304 for 2 before beating South Africa by 146 runs.
Salt brought up his hundred off 39 balls, the joint-fastest by a batter against South Africa in T20Is. West Indies’ Johnson Charles is the other batter to reach the 100-run mark in 39 balls against the Proteas in the 2023 Centurion T20I.
Charles’ rapid knock, though, ended in a loss, making his 118-run knock the highest against South Africa in a losing cause in T20Is.
Babar Azam’s 122 in the 2021 Centurion T20I is the highest score by a captain against South Africa in this format. This is also the highest score in a successful run chase against the Proteas in T20Is, as it helped Pakistan gun down 204 runs with ease.

T20I Centurions Against South Africa
