AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli hold the record for the highest partnership in the IPL. The RCB duo stitched together 229 runs for the second wicket against Gujarat Lions in Bengaluru in 2016.

ABD-Kohli and Sai Sudharsan-Shubman Gill are the two pairs with two double century partnerships each in the IPL.

Sudharsan and Gill are the only pair with multiple double hundred stands for the first wicket in the league.

Sudharsan and Gill have also put together the highest opening partnership, along with Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul, in the IPL. De Kock-Rahul partnered for an unbeaten 210 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2022, while Sudharsan-Gill levelled the record against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2024.

The unbeaten 205-run stand between Sudharsan and Gill against Delhi Capitals (DC) in 2025 is the highest by a pair while chasing in the IPL.

ABD and Kohli have also stitched the highest partnership in an away IPL game, scoring an unbeaten 215 against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium in 2015.

Kohli is the only batter to have featured in three double century stands in the league, with his other partnership being with Chris Gayle (204* vs Delhi, 2012).

ABD and Kohli have recorded the most century stands in the IPL, with 10 such partnerships between them.

Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul has registered the highest partnership in a losing cause in the IPL. The pair scored 183 runs for the first wicket for Kings XI Punjab against Rajasthan Royals in a 2020 game.

Only five pairs have put together more than 100 runs for the sixth or lower wicket in the IPL. Among them, Kieron Pollard and Ambati Rayudu have the highest partnership of unbeaten 122 runs for MI against RCB in 2012.

Donovan Ferreira and Ravindra Jadeja posted a 118-run stand for the sixth wicket for RR against Sunrisers Hyderabad in a 2026 game. This is the highest partnership after a team lost its five wickets within 10 runs (9/5) in an IPL game.

The 206-run stand between Adam Gilchrist and Shaun Marsh for Punjab against RCB in 2011 is the highest by a left-handed pair in the IPL.

Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head have recorded the highest run rate for a 100-plus run stand in the IPL. They put together 131 runs off 6.2 overs for the first wicket at 20.68 for SRH against Delhi Capitals in a 2024 match.

Abhishek and Head scored 125 of 131 runs in the powerplay, making it the highest powerplay score by a team in an IPL innings.
