The Indian Premier League (IPL) has witnessed flamboyant wicketkeepers like Adam Gilchrist, Kumar Sangakkara, Mark Boucher, and the kingpin, MS Dhoni. MSD has been the most successful wicketkeeper in the history of the IPL.

Key Insights
MS Dhoni stands tall at No.1 in the list with the most stumpings in his IPL career. The former Indian skipper also holds the record in the ODI format. He is the only wicketkeeper with more than 40 stumping dismissals in the IPL.
Dhoni also holds the record for fastest stumping in 0.08 seconds, although it came in an ODI game against the West Indies in 2018. (Read our detailed piece on Dhoni’s stumping technique.)

MSD also leads the overall dismissals chart as a wicketkeeper in the IPL. He is close to 200 wicketkeeping dismissals, which includes 150+ catches behind the stumps.
Adam Gilchrist has made the most stumpings in an IPL season. He whacked the stumps eight times in the 2009 edition for Deccan Chargers.
When it comes to a single innings, MS Dhoni, Robin Uthappa, and Heinrich Klaasen made three stumpings each. Interestingly, MSD did it twice against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Chennai in 2010 and 2011.
