With Virat Kohli been already called the king of this decade with the bat, we thought we will list down the top 10 batsmen with most runs in this decade (2010s) in both ODI and Tests from 2010 to 2019.
In 2010s, Virat Kohli became the first ever batsman to amass 20000+ International runs in a single decade.
Though Virat leads the all-formats runs tally and the ODI format, he is behind Alastair Cook and Joe Root in Test runs chart, in this decade.
Let’s find out the top 10 batsmen of the 2010s!

That’s absolute dominance by the Indian captain. He loves ODI, doesn’t he?
He became the first ever player to score 10000 runs in a decade in ODIs; then went onto pass 11000 mark in his next 17 innings. That’s a dream run he is having.
Check here the progression of Virat’s runs tally year by year.
If there is another player who we need to speak of in the ODI format, it is Rohit Sharma.
Since 2014, when Rohit started to open the bat in ODI format, he is just unstoppable. He piled up runs year after year in the top of India’s batting order.
His 5 centuries in 2019 World Cup is the highest by any cricketer in any cricket World Cup.
Then comes the two South African batsmen – Hasim Amla and AB de Villiers, who are already retired from all forms of International cricket. Still their exceptional performances in the earlier years of this decade help them end this decade strong at 3 and 4.
Then there is Ross Taylor at 5th position. The New Zealand middle order batsman has arguably had the best decade in his cricketing career.
Scored more than 6400 runs in just 145 games, Taylor averaged 54.01 this decade. ABD tops with the best average among these top 10 players scoring at an average of 64.20 in 129 innnings.
Still, Virat’s average of around 61 in almost double the innings ABD played is simply exceptional!
Also, Virat along with Rohit ruled the individual ODI stats of this period too.

| Ross Taylor | NZ | 5486 | 133 | 48.12 | 290 |
Alastair Cook batted 201 times for England in Tests in this decade and leads the chart with a tally of 8818 Test runs. Here is an infographics image on Alastair Cook’s fantastic Test career stats.
Bonus Stat: Cook is one of the very few players to play 150+ Test matches in his career.
The current England captain, Joe Root sits firm at the 2nd position. At the same time, Virat Kohli, David Warner and Steve Smith takes the next three positions.
Virat Kohli along with Ross Taylor and Kane Williamson are the only 3 batsmen to feature in both the above ODI and Test lists.
Even in the T20 format, Virat tops the run scorers chart, being the only player to score 2500+ runs in International T20.
He is also the only player to average 50+ in all three formats of the game.
That sums up, how good Virat is, throughout these 10 years of the 2010s.
He is already in 30s now. Lets see what awaits him in the next decade.
And now there is a question for you guys.
