1: Sachin Tendulkar, the legendary Indian batsman, is the only player to have amassed over 2000 runs in the history of the Cricket World Cup. No other player is even close to his tally, and it’s highly likely no other player will breach it.

2: Only 2 batters have scored double centuries in the ODI World Cup — Chris Gayle and Martin Guptill. Coincidentally, both innings came in the 2015 edition.

Gayle, the Universe Boss, became the first cricketer to notch up a double century in the 50-over extravaganza against Zimbabwe. While Guptill holds the record for the highest individual score in the World Cup.

6: Tendulkar and Pakistan’s Javed Miandad have both featured in 6 World Cup editions.

103.00: Australia’s Andrew Symonds averages a staggering 103.00 in the tournament, the most among the players who have scored 500+ runs. Out of the 13 innings Symonds batted in, he remained unbeaten in 8 innings.

673: Sachin Tendulkar also holds the record for scoring the most runs in a single edition of this pinnacle event. He racked up 673 runs in 11 innings at an impressive average of 61.18.
