Taijul is the only Bangladesh bowler to take an eight-wicket haul in a Test innings, with his figures of 8 for 39 against Zimbabwe in the 2014 Mirpur Test being the best.
Mehidy, meanwhile, has delivered the best match haul for Bangladesh, returning with 12 wickets for 117 runs against the West Indies in the 2018 Mirpur Test.
Mashrafe Mortaza’s 78 dismissals are the most by a pacer for Bangladesh in Test cricket.
Nayeem Hasan is the only Bangladesh bowler to average below 30 per wicket and strike a dismissal below 60 in Tests among those who’ve delivered at least 2000 balls.
Mohammad Rafique was the first Bangladesh bowler to pick up 100 Test wickets, having reached the mark in his last career innings in 2008.
Rafique was also the first to achieve the double of 1000 runs and 100 wickets for Bangladesh in Tests. Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz are the others to join him, with both of them also part of the 2000 runs and 200 wickets club.
Shakib, Taijul, and Mehidy are the three Bangladesh bowlers with 10-plus five-wicket hauls and two-plus ten-wicket hauls in Tests.
They are also the only trio to pick up 100-plus Test wickets at home.

Taijul Islam is the fastest Bangladesh bowler to grab 200 wickets in Tests, taking 48 matches to cross the milestone.
Taijul bagged the most Test wickets in a calendar year for Bangladesh, taking 43 in seven matches (13 innings) in 2018.
In April 2025, Taijul became the first Bangladesh bowler to take 50 wickets against a single opponent in Tests, going past the mark against Zimbabwe.
Shakib picked up 80 Test wickets against South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia (SENA) combined, the most by a Bangladesh bowler.
Mehidy took 19 wickets in two Tests (four innings) against England in 2016, the most by a Bangladesh bowler in a bilateral Test series.
70 of Shakib’s dismissals came as Bangladesh’s skipper. No other Bangladeshi player has more than 15 wickets while playing as a Test captain for them.
