Key Insights

Rishabh Pant needed just three Tests to bring up his first hundred in the format. With that, he became the 10th Indian wicketkeeper to score a Test century.

Pant also became the first Indian keeper-batter to score a ton in England in Tests. Now, he is the only overseas wicketkeeper with multiple Test centuries in England.

His 114 at The Oval made him the fourth-youngest Indian centurion in England in Tests. He was 20 years and 338 days old at that time.

Four months later, Pant logged the second-highest score by a visiting keeper-batter in Australia. The left-hander smashed an unbeaten 159 in the New Year Test in Sydney. This is also the highest score by an Indian wicketkeeper down under. In fact, he was the first Test centurion among Indian keepers in Australia.

Pant’s 159 is the second-highest Test score by an overseas batter at the No. 7 position in Australia.

In early 2022, Pant smashed an unbeaten ton in South Africa. With that, he became the only Indian wicketkeeper to score a hundred each in Australia, England, and South Africa in Tests.

The left-hander is the second youngest (21 years, 91 days) and fifth youngest (24 years, 99 days) Indian batter to score a Test hundred in Australia and South Africa, respectively.

Pant is one of the seven Indian batters to score five or more hundreds against England in Test cricket.

Two of those hundreds came in the Headingley Test in 2025. This made Pant the seventh Indian to smash two hundreds in the same Test. And he is the only Indian keeper to achieve the feat.

89 balls Pant needed to bring up his third hundred against England in 2022. This is the fastest Test ton by an Indian wicketkeeper.

Pant has scored the most centuries among Indian wicketkeepers in Test cricket. He went past MS Dhoni’s tally of six hundreds.
