Key Insights

Sanju Samson has scored about 85 percent of his career runs for Rajasthan Royals (RR). He is, in fact, the lead run-scorer for RR in the league.

In 2025, Samson became the first batter to aggregate 4000 runs for the Royals in the IPL.

Samson has scored 300 or more runs in nine IPL seasons. Eight of those seasons came on the trot from 2017 to 2024.

The last of those seasons was his best in the league. He aggregated 531 runs across 15 games at a strike rate of 153.46.

Samson’s best score has also come in RR colours. He smashed 119 against Punjab Kings in 2021. Check where it stands in the chart of the highest individual scores by a No. 3 batters in the tournament, here.

In the initial seasons, Samson’s strike rate was sluggish, ranging between 115 and 125. But since 2017, his strike rate has improved. He has struck above 130 in each of the seasons since then.

Samson has scored the fifth-most runs as a wicketkeeper in the IPL. He is one of the six keeper-batters with 3000-plus runs in the league.

The Kerala batter is among the few batters who have scored centuries for two IPL teams. His maiden ton came for Delhi Daredevils back in 2017, while his other two have come for RR. Interestingly, all his centuries have come at No. 3, the joint-most by a batter in that position in the IPL.
