David ‘Explosive’ Warner is the 5th highest run-scorer in the history of the Indian Premier League. The Australian Ace batter has a habit of controlling the game according to his will; he always looks to put pressure on the bowlers. That dominance factor makes him a versatile & different player from the other working athletes in the business. He can change the scenario of the game on his batting skills. Though he was not up to his standards in the past two seasons, he is still capable of bouncing back with double intensity.
David has excellent manoeuvring in the T20 format; he made his last team Sunrisers Hyderabad victorious in the IPL season of 2016. He is the only batter who owns the orange cap in three seasons of IPL; behind him is only Chris Gayle, who held it for two editions. David had scored 5449 runs in 150 matches with a dextrous average of 41.6 – the numbers are not as good as he has for his own country.
Here is a list of his top 5 knocks across all seasons of IPL.
#1 126(59) SRH vs KKR in 2017
In a second encounter of the league phase against Kolkata Knight Riders, David Warner smashed a big hundred of 126 runs in just 59 balls. KKR, who hadn’t been doing well in their batting, had again rattled down on a low score of 161/7. And at the end, SRH won the match by 48 runs.
#2 109*(54) DD vs DC in 2012
Virendra Sehwag was leading Delhi Daredevils and had been facing Kumar Sangakkara’s Deccan Chargers. David Warner had taken charge from the front by stamping a stupendous ton of 109*(54), having a strike rate of 201. His innings had included 10 fours & 7 sixes. In reply to DD’s 193/1, Deccan Chargers scored 187/4 with the assistance of a fine fifties from Shikhar Dhawan & Cameron White. In the end, they remained so close but yet so far from the margin of victory.
#3 107*(69) DD vs KKR in 2010
Gautam Gambhir’s Delhi Daredevils had been elected to bat first against Kolkata Knight Riders. Gautam & Sehwag fell early on the scores of 1 & 8, but David Warner stood firm and scored a majestic ton of 107*(69). DD had scored 177/4 in that match, and when the mediocre batting of KKR came to bat, they only succeeded in making 137/9. Chris Gayle & Sourav Ganguly failed to lift the team and lost the encounter against DD by 40 runs.

In the first league game between both teams, Sunrisers Hyderabad completely devastated RCB in both departments. Batting first SRH made a gigantic score of 231/2, including the tons of Johnny Bairstow 114(56) & David Warner 100*(55). Warner’s innings included 5 fours & 5 sixes, and the scoring pace was 181. In the 2nd innings, RCB got trapped into the spin of Mohammad Nabi and got all out on a below-par score of 113. SRH, with a dominant performance of both units, won the match by 118 runs. But, the Man of the Match award had gone to Johnny Bairstow instead of David due to the small margin of numbers.
