Record-Breaking Run Margins and Historic Milestones
India registered their first-ever 150-plus run margin victory in T20Is in February 2023. The Indian team put up 234 for 4 before bowling out New Zealand for 66 to win by a staggering 168 runs in the Ahmedabad T20I. This turned out to be India’s largest run margin win in T20Is.

India are one of the two full-member teams to win two or more matches by 150 or more runs in T20Is.
The Indian team logged its first 100-plus run margin victory against Ireland in 2018. The Men in Blue scored 213 runs in the first innings and skittled Ireland on a mere 70 runs, winning the match by 143 runs.
This 143-run win against Ireland is India’s biggest run margin victory in an overseas T20I match.

In the 2024 Hyderabad T20I against Bangladesh, India posted a mammoth 297 for 6 on the board, which is India’s highest team total in T20Is. While defending the total, India restricted Bangladesh to 164 for 7, winning the game by a margin of 133 runs.
India have successfully defended 200-plus totals in over 30 matches, the most by a team in T20I cricket.
