Mohammed Shami has seen more ups and downs in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Despite being picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders in 2011, Shami played his first IPL game in the 2013 season, in which he made three appearances and picked a lone wicket.

Shami’s five-year stint in the Delhi Daredevils side was mostly hampered by his knee injury, due to which he lost the entire 2015 season and a large part in 2018, the season after which the side released him.

In 2019, Shami became part of the Kings XI Punjab franchise (now Punjab Kings), where he had three successful years playing under Ravichandran Ashwin and KL Rahul, picking up 19, 20, and 19 wickets, respectively.

He continued his great form in the 2022 edition for the successful Gujarat Titans, who picked him in the mega auction in late 2021. Now he is with Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2025 season.

This article will list the year-wise bowling performance of Mohammed Shami in all editions of the Indian Premier League.

Shami played a huge part in Gujarat Titans’ title-winning campaign in 2022. Being one of the leading wicket-takers of that season, he topped the wickets chart (11) in the powerplay overs.
