Kapil Dev is the only Indian captain to grab four or more wickets in an ODI innings in Australia, having returned with 4 for 30 against Australia in 1986. (Read about Kapil Dev’s captaincy record in depth here.)

Tournament and Winning Performance Records

Two of Ishant’s four-fers came in the 2008 Commonwealth Bank (CB) tri-series, the joint most by an Indian bowler in a multi-team ODI tournament in Australia.

Javagal Srinath (Carlton & United Series, 2000), Praveen Kumar (CB Series, 2008), and Umesh Yadav (World Cup, 2015) are the others with two four-fers each in a multi-team series.

Umesh is one of the two bowlers to take multiple four-wicket hauls in the ODI World Cup in Australia.

Ishant, Roger Binny, Kapil Dev, and Praveen Kumar have two four-wicket hauls each in ODI wins down under among Indian bowlers.
