IPL Stats: Most Centuries against a Single Opponent

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a fierce battle between bat and ball. Many stalwart batters have displayed their top-notch batting skills by taking on a particular opponent.

Some of them have even hammered centuries against their favourite opponent. However, a few have done it more than once, showcasing their dominance against a team.

In this article, we’ll list the batters with the most centuries against a single opponent in the IPL.

3 centuries smashed by KL Rahul against Mumbai Indians are the most by a batter against a single opponent. His first hundred came in 2019 while playing for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), and the next two came in 2022 while playing for Lucknow Super Giants.

Rahul and Virat Kohli are the only two batters to score two or more tons against the same opposition in a single IPL season. Rahul did it against MI as mentioned above, while Kohli notched up 2 hundreds against Gujarat Lions in 2016. (Check out Virat Kohli’s IPL hundreds here.)

Jos Buttler is the only batter to score two or more centuries against two different opponents. The opener has smashed multiple tons against KKR and RCB while playing for Rajasthan Royals.

1: Yashasvi Jaiswal is the only batter to bring up two centuries against the same opponent in consecutive IPL seasons. The southpaw batter smashed his first hundred against MI in 2023 and followed it up with another in 2024.

Apart from Rahul, David Warner has smashed centuries against the same team while representing two different teams. He has scored two hundreds against KKR, with the first coming in 2020 for Delhi and the other in 2017 for Hyderabad.

Warner has also scored 1000+ runs against KKR, putting him among the top 10 batters with the most runs against a team.
