Beyond the Numbers: Trends in Afghani Test 200s

Hashmatullah Shahidi became the first ever Afghani batsman to score a Test double century. He achieved it against Zimbabwe in Abu Dhabi in March 2021. Afghanistan went on to win that game by 6 wickets.

Three years later, Shahidi brought up another double ton against Zimbabwe. This time, he bettered his score to register the highest Test knock for Afghanistan of 246 runs in Bulawayo.

In the same innings, Rahmat Shah became the second Test double centurion from Afghanistan. This was the 21st instance of two batters scoring double hundreds in the same Test innings.
