Teams with more batters who can make the ball go across the ropes have a high chance of winning games more often than not and, at the same time, gaining a huge following among the masses.

SA20, a relatively new entrant to the world of T20 leagues in its brief stint thus far, has shown it has all the ingredients to grow into a successful T20 tourney. This is largely thanks to a resounding number of big hitters from all six participating teams.

Franchise Records for Most Sixes in SA20 History

MI Cape Town (MICT) have hit the most sixes among all teams in the SA20. In fact, MICT became the first team to score 300 sixes in the competition.

MICT hit on average eight sixes per match, the best sixes per match ratio by a team in the SA20.

Single Season and Innings Six-Hitting Milestones

Durban’s Super Giants have scored the most sixes in a single SA20 season, having hit 114 of them in the 2024 edition.

MICT are the only other team to score more than 100 sixes in a season, having done so in 2025 with 109 maximums.

MICT became the first team to score 50 or more sixes in each of the first four SA20 seasons.

MICT have hit the most sixes in a single innings in the SA20, having cracked 20 maximums against Pretoria Capitals in a 2024 season match. The 20 sixes powered MICT to 248 for 4, the second-highest team total in the league.

The Capitals hammered 12 sixes in response against MICT, aggregating to 32 maximums, the most in a single match in the SA20.

Individual Performance and Lowest Team Aggregates

Among batters, Ryan Rickelton has smashed the most sixes in an innings in the SA20. He clubbed 11 maximums in his 113-run knock against the Super Giants in a 2025/26 season match.

Rickelton is also among the leading six hitters in the league’s history.

Paarl Royals have smashed the fewest sixes in the league. Their sixes-per-match ratio is also around four, which is the lowest among all teams.
