During both their title triumphs, Daren Sammy led the West Indies, making him the only captain to win the global T20 tournament twice.
Except for their zero wins in 2007, the Caribbean team has won at least one match in every edition since 2009.
In the opening match of the 2007 edition, the West Indies posted the first-ever 200+ total in the tournament’s history. During the same match, Chris Gayle scored 117 runs, making him the first batter to score a T20I century.
