Sri Lanka holds the record for registering the largest win margin by runs in the T20 World Cup. They handed a 172-run defeat to Kenya in the inaugural edition after putting up 260 runs on the board — the highest team total in the tournament’s history.

Thus far, Sri Lanka remains the only team to beat an opponent by a 150-run margin in the competition.

South Africa and Afghanistan are the only teams to win two matches each with a 100 or more run margin in the T20 World Cup. On the other hand, Scotland and Uganda are the only teams to concede two defeats each by 100 or more runs.

Afghanistan is the only team to win two consecutive T20 World Cup matches by an 80 or more run margin. They first defeated Uganda by 125 runs and followed it up with an 84-run victory against New Zealand in the 2024 edition.
