Phillips reached his hundred in 72 balls, which is the second-fastest ODI ton by a visiting batter against Pakistan in Pakistan.

South Africa’s Matthew Breetzke had a stunning ODI debut two days later. He smashed 150 runs from 148 balls against New Zealand, making it the highest debut score by a batter.

Two veteran batters, Rohit Sharma and Kane Williamson, have returned to ODI action in style. Both batters scored a century each against England and South Africa, respectively.

Thus far, Zimbabwe’s Brian Bennett has logged the highest individual score in ODIs this year. The right-hand opener amassed 169 runs off 163 balls against Ireland in Harare.

Shubman Gill has started plundering runs with consistency in his most favoured format. It will be interesting to see if he tops the list by the end of 2025.
