Key Insights – Quickest T20I Run Chases

Spain holds the record for the fastest run chase in T20I cricket, taking down the 11-run target set by the Isle of Man in just two legal balls. This was the first-ever chase to be completed within one legal over in this format.

The Isle of Man’s 10 all-out against Spain is the joint lowest team total in the first innings of a T20I match. Mongolia are the other team to get all out on 10, which Singapore chased down in five balls in 2024.

In 2024, Mali became the first team to concede five defeats by 100 or more balls in T20I cricket.

Mongolia faced four 100-plus ball defeats in 2024, the most by a team in a calendar year.

England have recorded the fastest T20I run chase among full members. They overhauled the 48-run target set by Oman in 3.1 overs in the 2024 T20 World Cup. This is the fastest run chase in the T20 World Cup.

Romania have logged the fastest 100-plus run chase in T20Is, taking 5.4 overs to reach the 116-run target against Serbia with 10 wickets in hand in 2021.

Serbia have registered the quickest 200-plus run chase in the shortest format, completing the 200-run target in 14.1 overs against Slovenia in 2025.
