Key Insights

Blessing Muzarabani became the first bowler to take 30 wickets across formats in 2025.

Muzarabani also became the fourth Zimbabwe bowler to take 25 or more wickets in a calendar year in Tests. He might shatter the late Heath Streak‘s record of 34 Test wickets picked up in 1998.

Here is the record for the most wickets picked by a fast bowler in a calendar year.

Muzarabani was also the first bowler to take a five-wicket haul in international cricket this year. The right-arm pacer picked up six wickets for 95 runs in the third innings against Afghanistan in the Bulawayo Test.

Thus far, Jomel Warrican’s 7 for 32 are the best bowling figures across formats, this year. His performance triggered a collapse for Pakistan in the Multan Test.

In all, Warrican grabbed 19 wickets in the two-Test series against Pakistan, the most for the West Indies in Pakistan.

Varun Chakravarthy took 14 scalps in the five-match T20I series against England. These are the most wickets for India in a bilateral T20I series

Earlier in February, Adil Rashid picked up his 400th wicket in international cricket. He is just the seventh England bowler to surpass the mark. Now Rashid is among the top five wicket-takers for England across formats.
