Key Insights on 2026’s Leading T20I Wicket Takers

Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga became the first bowler to take a four-wicket haul in this year. He returned 4 for 35 against Pakistan in Dambulla.

Wanindu Hasaranga completed 150 T20I wickets in early 2026, becoming just the fifth bowler to go past the milestone.

Hasaranga also became the joint-fastest bowler to take 150 wickets in T20Is, reaching there in 92 innings to level Rashid Khan.

Speaking of Rashid Khan, he continues to keep batters in check. He averages a touch above 10, while strikes a wickets almost every 15th delivery. His economy rate is also under five.

India’s Arshdeep Singh bagged the first five-wicket haul of this year, although it turned out to be the most expensive one by any bowler in T20Is. He went for 51 runs while picking up five wickets against New Zealand in Thiruvananthapuram.

Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz started February with his career best T20I figures, returning 5 for 18 against Australia in Lahore.
