Virat Kohli has scored 1000 or more runs against four IPL teams, the most by a batter in the league. If we keep the criteria to a minimum of 500 runs, then he has scored those many runs against seven opponents, the joint-most among all batters.

Kohli’s 1146 runs against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are the most by a batter against any opponent in the IPL. 

The right-hand batter leads the run charts against four more teams – Delhi Capitals (DC), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Gujarat Titans (GT), and Rising Pune Supergiant (RPSG).

Interestingly, Kohli is among the top five run-getters against 10 of the 15 teams (RCB excluded) that have featured in the IPL.

Kohli is among a few batters who have smashed multiple IPL hundreds against an opponent. He took a special liking to Gujarat Lions’ bowling attack in the 2016 season to bring up an unbeaten 100 in Rajkot, followed by 109 in Bengaluru.

In the five matches against the Lions, Kohli struck at a rate of 154.64, which is the highest by him against a team (minimum 200 runs). And he averaged a stunning 90.33 against Rising Pune Supergiant, scoring 271 runs in four innings.

Except for Kochi Tuskers Kerala, the RCB batter scored at least one fifty against each of the 13 opponent IPL teams. Among them, he has 10 or more fifty-plus scores against DC and CSK.

Kohli’s 113 is the joint-highest score against a team in the IPL. The first 113 came against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in 2016, while the next one was an unbeaten knock against RR in 2024.

He has smashed more than 100 fours against PBKS and DC, while his sixes count is the highest against CSK (48).
